Gal Costa e Simoninha participam de show do CD 'Nego'

Clássicos do jazz norte-americano compostos originalmente por autores judeus receberam versões com a ginga e bom humor brasileiro e deram origem ao CD "Nego", lançado em 2009. Com canções gravadas na voz de grandes estrelas da MPB como Gal Costa, Erasmo Carlos e Elba Ramalho, o trabalho ganha seu primeiro show aberto ao público, hoje, às 21h, no Teatro Alfa.

A produção é fruto de uma parceria do Centro da Cultura Judaica (CCJ) e do compositor Carlos Rennó. "É um disco elegante, clássico e que tem o objetivo de difundir o judaísmo contemporâneo e tradicional", diz Yael Steiner, diretora do CCJ. Rennó conta que a maioria das versões ele fez pensando na voz de cada cantor e isso ajudou no resultado final.

No show de hoje estão garantidas as participações de Dominguinhos ("I?ve Got a Crush on You"/Tenho um Xodó por Ti), Gal Costa ("My Romance"/Meu Romance), Moreno Veloso ("How Deep Is the Ocean"/Tão Fundo É o Mar), Ná Ozzetti e Wilson Simoninha ("I Wish I Were in Love Again"/Queria Estar Amando Alguém), Paula Morelenbaum ("Lover"/Nego) e Zélia Duncan ("Over the Rainbow"/Mais Além do Arco-Íris).

Dominguinhos não hesitou em participar do projeto. "Recebi um material com a versão original de I?ve Got a Crush on You para conhecer a melodia. Estava na voz de Frank Sinatra. E pensei: Depois desse povo interpretando tem que chamar Cauby Peixoto pra cima para cantar isso aí", brinca.

Simoninha, que hoje vai fazer um dueto com Ná Ozzetti, ressalta o prazer de participar de um trabalho tão ousado. "Rennó consegue manter o espírito da canção original e ao mesmo tempo brincar com as palavras trazendo um universo bem brasileiro. Não há descaracterização, por isso é genial", afirma.
